Take the multiple choice quiz on pages 36-37 of the textbook. Students may want to review their history flashcards and notes first, but we spent significant time reviewing in class already.
Read chapter 4 of The Martyr of the Catacombs.
Parents, please be aware that in Lesson 7 of the text, "Masada," that one section of it on page 41 MAY BE OVERLY INFORMATIVE for your student. Please view this in advance. You may want to read this lesson to your student and leave this portion out of the reading. If you do want your child to take in this information, please require them to be sensitive to the class as other students may not be privy to this portion of the lesson. Also, if you could send me a line in the email IF YOU ARE WITHHOLDING this information from your student so I can be sure to quell any possible discussion of it in class.
With that said, please also cover Lesson 7 in preparation for class on Friday.
If you are able, it would be fun for each student to bring 1 choice of a dried food to share in class in accordance with activity 2 on page 41. Don't go to extreme lengths to make it happen, but if you can, that will be nice. I will bring something as well as we discuss living and eating at Masada.
You MAY be interested in Activity 2 on page 42 as a project to do at home. I think that would be an interesting experience for them to observe how a cistern functions. But this is not one I could keep up with at school, so I wanted to bring that to your attention.
